Reporter - Middle East Contributor / Correspondent for the CBC and the Public Radio International / BBC program “The World.” Also filed stories for American Public Radiowork’s “Marketplace” radio program. Reported from Syria and Lebanon during the July 2006 war. Currently writing follow up stories on the political, economic and cultural affects of the war and the current political crisis. Also taking frequent reporting trips to the UAE and other Gulf states.
December 2005 to June 2006 Freelance Reporter, Iraq -- Contracted by Voice of America and Marketplace to cover Iraq war. Entered Iraq unilaterally to cover Iraqi civilian angle, but also embedded with the US Military to cover both sides of the conflict. Reported on Saddam Hussein’s trial and Iraqi Elections. Also filed for USA Today, US News and World Report, San Francisco Chronicle, Public Radio International’s “The World,” ABC Radio and the Canadian Broadcasting Company. October 2004 to October 2005 National Public Radio, Washington, DC Baghdad Producer – Five tours as NPR’s Baghdad Bureau Producer. Duties included reporting, editing, writing, conducting interviews and reporting daily breaking news summaries on deadline from Baghdad. Also managed bureau’s daily operations; including security, drivers, translators and expenses.
April 2002 to December 2006 Reporter – Regular contributor to NPR’s All Things Considered, Morning Edition, Day to Day and NPR’s hourly newscast.
April 2002 to November 2005 “Morning Edition” and “All Things Considered” Producer – Worked on daily deadline with ATC hosts Robert Siegel, Michele Norris and Melissa Block.
January to April 2002 New Hampshire & Connecticut Public Radio, Washington, DC Congressional Correspondent -- Covered United States Congress and federal agencies for state radio network through Boston University.
